Assignments & Grading

Track student work and academic performance with assignments and grades for each class.

Creating an Assignment

  1. Navigate to the class detail page.
  2. Click Add Assignment.
  3. Fill in:
    • Title -- Name of the assignment
    • Type -- Homework, Quiz, Test, or Project
    • Due Date -- When the assignment is due
    • Total Points -- Maximum possible score
    • Description -- Instructions or details (optional)
  4. Click Save.

Assignment Types

TypeTypical Use
HomeworkRegular practice work assigned between classes
QuizShort assessments on recent material
TestMajor assessments covering larger portions of material
ProjectExtended assignments like research papers or presentations

Grading Submissions

  1. Open the assignment.
  2. The student roster appears with a grade field next to each name.
  3. Enter the score for each student (out of the total points).
  4. Click Save Grades.

Grades are recorded immediately and contribute to the student's overall class average.

Viewing Grades

  • By Assignment -- See all student scores for a specific assignment
  • By Student -- View all of a student's grades across assignments in a class
  • Class Average -- The overall class performance for each assignment

Grade Calculations

FaithAdmin calculates:

  • Individual assignment percentage (score / total points)
  • Running class average per student
  • Class-wide average per assignment

These calculations feed into Report Cards at the end of each term.

Create assignments consistently throughout the term so report cards reflect a comprehensive view of student performance, not just one or two test scores.
