Lifecycle Events

Lifecycle events track important religious milestones for your members -- from birth ceremonies through coming-of-age rituals to conversions and beyond.

Event Types

FaithAdmin supports nine lifecycle event types:

  1. Bar Mitzvah -- Coming of age for boys (age 13)
  2. Bat Mitzvah -- Coming of age for girls (age 12-13)
  3. B'nai Mitzvah -- Group or non-gendered coming of age
  4. Conversion -- Religious conversion process
  5. Baby Naming -- Naming ceremony for newborns
  6. Brit Milah -- Circumcision ceremony
  7. Confirmation -- Confirmation of faith
  8. Wedding -- Marriage ceremony
  9. Funeral -- Memorial and burial services

The available event types adapt based on your Terminology Pack.

Creating a Lifecycle Event

  1. Navigate to Lifecycle Events from the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Event.
  3. Fill in:
    • Member -- The person this event is for
    • Event Type -- Select from the nine types
    • Date -- Scheduled or completed date
    • Status -- Planning, Scheduled, Completed, Cancelled
    • Tutor / Mentor -- Assign a tutor (e.g., Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor)
    • Notes -- Additional details
  4. Click Save.

Tutor Assignment

For events like Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Conversion:

  • Assign a tutor or mentor from your member directory
  • Track the preparation process through status updates
  • The tutor can see their assigned students

Status Workflow

Each lifecycle event progresses through statuses:

  1. Planning -- Initial planning stage
  2. Scheduled -- Date is confirmed
  3. Completed -- Event has taken place
  4. Cancelled -- Event was called off

Scheduling

Link lifecycle events to your Calendar so they appear alongside regular services and events. This helps staff plan and prepare.

ipucu

Start lifecycle event records early in the planning process (e.g., a year before a Bar Mitzvah) to track preparation milestones and tutor assignments.
