Lesson Plans
Lesson plans help teachers prepare structured, consistent instruction for each class session. They serve as both a planning tool and a record of what was taught.
Creating a Lesson Plan
- Navigate to the class detail page.
- Click Add Lesson Plan.
- Fill in the details:
- Title -- The topic or focus of the lesson
- Date -- When the lesson will be taught
- Objectives -- What students should learn or be able to do after the lesson (list specific, measurable goals)
- Content -- The main teaching material, scripture references, or curriculum content
- Materials -- Any supplies, handouts, books, or technology needed
- Activities -- Planned activities, discussions, or exercises
- Notes -- Additional notes for the teacher
- Click Save.
Organizing Lesson Plans
Lesson plans are organized by:
- Class -- Each plan is tied to a specific class
- Date -- Plans appear in chronological order
- Term -- Plans inherit the term from their class
Using Lesson Plans Effectively
- Before class -- Review the plan, gather materials, and prepare activities
- During class -- Follow the plan as a guide while remaining flexible
- After class -- Add notes about what worked, what to adjust, and student engagement
Viewing Past Plans
Teachers and admins can review past lesson plans to:
- Ensure curriculum continuity across terms
- Reuse successful lesson structures
- Hand off a class to a substitute teacher with clear documentation
Who Can Create Lesson Plans
- Admins can create and edit lesson plans for any class
- Teachers assigned to a class can create and edit plans for their own classes
tip
Write your lesson objectives as specific outcomes (e.g., "Students will be able to recite Surah Al-Fatiha" or "Students will identify the 12 tribes of Israel") rather than vague goals.
