Kiosk Mode
Kiosk mode provides a full-screen, tablet-friendly interface for self-service child check-in and checkout. Set up a tablet at your entrance and let parents handle the process themselves.
Setting Up a Kiosk
- Open FaithAdmin on a tablet or dedicated computer.
- Navigate to Check-In > Kiosk Mode.
- The interface switches to a simplified, full-screen layout optimized for touch.
Step-by-Step Check-In Flow
The kiosk walks parents through a simple process:
- Search -- Parent types their family name or searches for their child
- Select Children -- Choose which children to check in (families with multiple children can check in all at once)
- Select Room -- Pick the room or class for each child
- Confirm -- Review the selections and confirm
- Security Code Display -- The kiosk displays the security code prominently on screen
- Print Label (optional) -- If a label printer is connected, a name tag with the security code prints automatically
Checkout via Kiosk
- Parent selects Checkout on the kiosk.
- Enters their security code.
- The system verifies the code and marks the child as checked out.
Kiosk Interface Features
- Large buttons and text -- Easy to read and tap on a tablet
- Full-screen mode -- No browser chrome or navigation distractions
- Auto-reset -- Returns to the start screen after inactivity
- Touch-optimized -- Designed for touchscreen interaction
Hardware Recommendations
- A 10-inch tablet (iPad or Android) works well for most setups
- Optional: a label printer for name tags (Dymo or Brother compatible)
- Position the tablet on a stand near your entrance
Security Considerations
- The kiosk only provides check-in and checkout functionality
- No admin access or sensitive data is exposed through the kiosk interface
- Parents can only see and check in their own children
